S4 | 11: Why Personal Growth Is A Must
My unfiltered truth after a decade of teaching this stuff
I’ve been in the personal growth space for ten years.
A full decade of teaching it, practicing it, watching people transform because of it, and watching others ignore it and stay exactly where they are.
That gives me the audacity to look you dead in the eye and say this with my full chest:
Growth is not optional. It’s a must.
Not because it sounds inspirational. Because I’ve seen what happens when you commit to it—and what happens when you don’t.
I’m going to give you four reasons why. But here’s the thing: the real power isn’t in the reasons themselves. It’s in the stories behind them.
So do me a favor: don’t skim this. Don’t let your mind wander. Just sit with me for the next few minutes.
This might be the only piece you’ll ever need to read about why you should grow.
Let’s go.
Gaps
Right now, in your mind, you have a vision.
Maybe it’s landing a high-paying remote job in US dollars.
Maybe it’s speaking confidently in front of hundreds without your voice shaking.
Maybe it’s building a personal brand that people actually pay attention to.
Maybe it’s earning seven figures a month.
Whatever it is, there’s a gap between where you are right now and that vision in your head.
Personal growth is that gap.
It’s the space between your current reality and your preferred reality. And the only thing that closes that gap is intentional growth.
The more you grow, the shorter the distance. The less you grow, the wider it stays.
Let me make this personal.
My brand today isn’t what it was five years ago. I didn’t wake up one day and suddenly have it together. I grew into it.
I’ve always believed in excellence. But if you compare the level of execution, clarity, and systems I have now to what I started with in 2022 (the year my brand went mainstream), it’s night and day.
Someone once asked a friend of mine if I was Nigerian or from overseas.
Why? Because the way I think, the way I execute, and the patterns I operate from—they didn’t match what he was used to seeing from the average Nigerian.
That’s not talent. That’s not luck.
That’s growth.
You can grow out of your current reality into a version of yourself you’ll actually be proud of.
But only if you commit to closing the gap.
Value
I wish I had known this earlier.
I wish someone had sat me down and told me:
The currency you trade with in life for anything you desire is value.
Not connections (though they help).
Not charisma (though it’s useful).
Value.
First off, you need to get this clear:
Nobody owes you anything.
Let that sink in.
But here’s the loophole: humans are selfish. And I don’t mean that negatively—I mean they operate from self-interest. They have genuine needs.
If you can design the value you provide to meet one or more of those needs, they will willingly put themselves in your debt.
Real story:
A few days ago, someone on my WhatsApp contact list (someone I’ve never had a deep conversation with) reached out.
He’d been following my status updates. Watching. Observing. Learning.
He asked if I organized training for organizations.
I said yes.
He told me he wanted to recommend me to train a company’s staff in their next training cycle. Then he mentioned the amount they’d likely pay.
It was substantial.
I didn’t lobby for that opportunity.
I didn’t beg for access.
I didn’t pitch myself into exhaustion.
I simply existed as someone valuable, and the opportunity found me.
Personal growth adds value to your life and makes you valuable to others.
This is not motivational talk. That’s the pattern I’ve watched play out over and over again.
Reflection
You don’t need to convince me about the great future you’re going to have. All I need to do is live with you for a few days and watch your daily agenda.
Your daily habits don’t lie.
If I don’t see you doing the work—the reading, the practicing, the investing in yourself—I have every right to conclude you’re not going anywhere.
Harsh? Maybe.
True? Absolutely.
Here’s what most people don’t realize:
When you’re not investing in personal growth, you’re subconsciously telling yourself you don’t deserve a better life.
You’re saying, “It’s not worth the time, effort, and energy.”
You’re psychologically agreeing that you’re not worth the stress and investment.
You’ve mentally tapped out. You’ve given up on your ideal future before it even had a chance.
Let me flip that for you:
Personal growth is a reflection of the belief that you are worth the time, effort, and resources required to improve yourself.
Growth will cost you something. Time. Money. Comfort.
But here’s what I know from experience:
No investment in personal development is ever wasted.
I remember watching a recording of my session from the Growth Masterclass. Before that event, I had invested heavily in improving my public speaking.
Two years later, I watched that same session back, and I felt proud.
Not because I was perfect. But because I could see the evidence of the investment I’d made.
It’s only in hindsight that you’ll appreciate the sacrifices you make for personal growth.
But when you look back? You’ll be glad you did.
Preparation
Still on the subject of investing in growth as preparation...
There was no better way to prepare to speak to 1,000 people on a global stage than to learn the art with smaller groups first.
That’s exactly what I did.
I spoke back-to-back for 30 days in January. Then 8 Saturdays between March and April 2024.
By the time May rolled around and the Growth Masterclass happened, enough preparation had been done to set me up for that moment.
I didn’t just “show up.” I grew into it.
Personal growth keeps you prepared, and here’s the truth most people don’t realize:
You don’t go into an opportunity. You grow into it.
If you think the next level you’re fantasizing about in your head is going to arrive on a platter of gold with minimum effort, you’re lying to yourself.
Big time.
You will have to grow your way into your desires. There are no shortcuts.
You have two choices:
Grow into the person capable of becoming who you want to be.
Or
Reduce the expectations you have in your heart to match the uncomfortable, stagnant version of yourself that refuses to intentionally grow.
I hope you choose the first one.
Finally…
I’ve spent ten years watching this play out.
People who commit to growth experience transformation.
People who treat it casually stay stuck.
Start now.
Close the gap.
Build the value.
Reflect honestly.
Prepare intentionally.
The version of yourself you want to become is possible.
You just have to grow into it.

Day 11 of 100 Hours of Personal Growth
As we begin the second week of the challenge, I need to stir you up to purposeful growth this week; hence, this post.
No days off. Stay strong.
— Multidimensionally yours, JG
PS: I’m teaching the Life Operating System this week, with over 6 hours of implementation, systems, and accountability for building a personal growth plan that actually works. I’ve closed access to the program, but someone begged to get in yesterday. I felt like giving everyone ONE last chance.
If you’re serious about starting 2026 ahead of where you are right now, kindly reach out RIGHT NOW.

You just reminded me why I need to stop waiting for a miracle.
I'm a Christian and I believe prayers change the course of events. At the same time, there are others who don't know a thing about prayer but have strategically mapped their way into the path of success, credit to one thing... PERSONAL GROWTH.
This was a timely reminder to get off the "Que Sera Sera" train and map out what I desire for my life
Lol... Even God demands that I request of Him the desires of my heart, and couple Faith with works, so why not?
This was worth my time, Sir.
Thank you.
This post just silenced the voices in my head with big dreams that I am yet to manifest. Now, I know the gap between the current me and the ideal me. I will pay the price.
